Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra tipped to rival S Ultra as flagship foldable

Samsung’s rumoured Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to sit above the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 in the same way the Galaxy S Ultra sits above the rest of the S series, making it the company’s most ambitious foldable device to date if confirmed at its Galaxy Unpacked event on 22 July in London.

Leaks suggest the Ultra will feature advanced display technology aimed at minimising the crease that has long affected foldable screens, alongside a triple rear camera setup, faster charging and a more powerful chipset. The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 are expected to focus on refinement instead, with lighter builds, thinner hinges and AI-driven multitasking features tied to Samsung’s Galaxy AI ecosystem.

The event, themed “A New Shape Unfolds,” will stream live on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom and Samsung’s YouTube channel at 6:30 pm IST. Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and its Android XR smart glasses at the same event.

Pre-reservations are already open in India for a refundable Rs 999, with early customers set to receive benefits worth Rs 2,799 upon purchase. Reports suggest the Fold 8 Ultra could be priced from Rs 1,99,990, though Samsung has not confirmed pricing.
