Nissan Tekton scores 5-star BNCAP rating ahead of India launch
The newly launched Nissan Tekton SUV has received a 5-star safety rating from BNCAP as it enters India's competitive mid-size SUV segment.
Nissan’s newly launched Tekton SUV has received a 5-star safety rating from BNCAP, positioning it alongside the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Volkswagen Taigun in India’s mid-size SUV segment.
The Tekton comes with six airbags, Level 2 ADAS features, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and an electronic parking brake, priced from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.59 lakh (ex-showroom) across six variants. Deliveries begin 20 July.
The Duster, which shares its platform with the Tekton and is also built at Renault’s Tamil Nadu facility, offers a broader safety and feature set including six airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS, priced from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.09 lakh across five variants.
Both SUVs share the same 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine options, though the Duster will additionally get a 1.8-litre strong hybrid powertrain option later this festive season, delivering a combined 160hp and 172Nm.
