From implants to imaging: the industrial park pulling MedTech firms to Noida
YEIDA additional CEO Shailendra Bhatia said the Sector 28 medical device park has allotted 120 industrial plots, with more than 20 companies already constructing manufacturing units.
A medical device park taking shape in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region is drawing manufacturers across a wide range of device categories, from imaging equipment to implants. YEIDA additional CEO Shailendra Bhatia told an investors’ meet at India Expo Mart on Thursday that the Authority has already allotted 120 industrial plots at the 350-acre site, with more than 20 companies now constructing their manufacturing units.
Bhatia called the park a ‘major manufacturing hub’ that would give north India an end-to-end MedTech ecosystem, spanning production, testing and certification under one roof rather than scattered across the region.
According to Bhatia, investor interest so far spans radiology and imaging, implants, in-vitro diagnostics, anaesthesia and respiratory devices, and cardiology and cancer care, pointing to a broad base of manufacturers rather than a single niche.
The park sits 3km from the upcoming Noida International Airport, a location meant to connect companies there to both domestic and global markets once air links are established.
To reduce set-up costs, the site will offer shared scientific and infrastructural facilities, including rapid prototyping, artificial intelligence laboratories and a common warehouse, alongside institutional support from IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, Invest UP and the Export Promotion Council.
Companies at the park will also be eligible for incentives including a capital interest subsidy, stamp duty exemption, support for skill development, quality certification and marketing assistance, Bhatia said.
