Six dates of Chennai-Bengaluru Lalbagh Express services curtailed for railway works
South Western Railway will curtail Dr. MGR Chennai Central-KSR Bengaluru Lalbagh Express services on six dates in July 2026 for engineering works.
South Western Railway will curtail the Dr. MGR Chennai Central–KSR Bengaluru Lalbagh Express on six dates in July 2026 — 10, 12, 15, 17, 19 and 22 July — to facilitate the safe execution of engineering works, according to a press release from Chief Public Relations Officer Dr. Manjunath Kanamadi, issued from Hubballi.
Train No. 12607 Dr. MGR Chennai Central–KSR Bengaluru Lalbagh Express will be partially cancelled between Dr. MGR Chennai Central and Katpadi and will originate from Katpadi instead of Chennai Central on those dates. The corresponding Train No. 16552 Ashokapuram–Dr. MGR Chennai Central Express will be partially cancelled between Katpadi and Dr. MGR Chennai Central, short-terminating at Katpadi.
In a separate notice, South Western Railway said Train No. 66550 KSR Bengaluru–Jolarpettai MEMU and Train No. 66549 Jolarpettai–KSR Bengaluru MEMU will be partially cancelled on 14 July 2026 between Somanayakkanpatti and Jolarpettai, with services short-terminating or originating at Somanayakkanpatti instead of Jolarpettai.
The railway said passengers travelling on the affected sections during the notified dates should plan accordingly, as the changes are aimed at allowing engineering works to proceed safely.
