1087 Teaching Jobs, One State: Karnataka’s KREIS Recruitment Window Opens This Week

KEA's KREIS Teacher Recruitment 2026 notification covers 1087 vacancies in Karnataka's residential schools; online applications run 15 July to 13 August 2026.

Karnataka’s residential school network is hiring at scale. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued the KREIS Teacher Recruitment 2026 notification for the Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS), covering 1087 teacher vacancies across the state.

Two notifications, both dated 10 July 2026, make up the total: 767 posts for the Rest of the State (RPC) cadre and 320 posts for the Kalyana-Karnataka (KK) local cadre. The roles cover language, science, mathematics, social science and physical education teaching positions, among others.

The application window runs from 15 July 2026 to 13 August 2026, and candidates apply online through kea.kar.nic.in or cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Eligibility requires a relevant Bachelor’s degree, a B.Ed or equivalent NCTE-recognised teacher training qualification, and a valid KARTET or other applicable TET certificate.

Karnataka Government norms require working knowledge of Kannada and domicile in the state, subject to reservation and residency rules. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, with the upper age limit and any category-based relaxations detailed in the official notification.

Shortlisting happens through a written exam testing subject knowledge, teaching aptitude and language sections, followed by document verification against merit and reservation category, and finally a merit list leading to school allotment and appointment.

KREIS itself was created under Karnataka’s Social Welfare Department to give free residential education, on the lines of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, to children from SC, ST, OBC and other weaker-section backgrounds across the state.
